The Gordon Research Seminar on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Related Motor Neuron Diseases is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting-edge ideas. This is great opportunity to connect and interact with peers in a quickly expanding field.

The main goal of this inaugural seminar is to provide an enriching environment for trainees to exchange ideas, present unpublished data and receive feedback, and network in the expanding field of motor neuron disease biology. Our focus is to attract a diverse group of trainees that includes not only neuroscientists but also RNA biologists, basic cellular biologists, biophysicists, and others. The GRS format is unique and inherently collaborative. Formal talks and discussions will only take place during the two science sessions per day, with time set aside specifically for poster sessions. All attendees are expected to actively participate in the GRS, either by presenting a poster or giving an oral presentation, which will be selected from the abstracts. In addition, the GRS attendees will have the distinctive opportunity to interact with a select panel of established scientists and other non-academic scientists during an organized career panel session on Sunday, July 21st.

This GRS will be held in conjunction with the “Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Related Motor Neuron Diseases” Gordon Research Seminar (GRS). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRC in addition to an application for the GRS. Refer to the associated GRC program page for more information.
