The Department of Chemistry at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level in all areas of chemistry, subject to available funding. Exceptionally qualified senior applicants will also be considered for Associate/Full Professor positions. We are interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through teaching, research, and service.
The Department of Chemistry’s mission is to create new chemical knowledge while providing all of our students with an innovative and forward-looking scientific education grounded in the fundamentals of chemistry. Key research includes drug discovery, green chemistry, cancer research, energy, and materials chemistry. The department has state-of-the-art mass spectrometry, NMR, and X-ray crystallographic facilities, and a full-time scientific glassblower. We are ranked 15th best chemistry graduate program in the United States by US News and World Report (2019 ed.).
Qualifications
PhD in chemistry or closely related field. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the core undergraduate and graduate teaching missions of the department, and to engage in departmental, institutional and professional service activities.
