We are searching for a Research Associate to develop, optimize and execute cellular assays to support our drug discovery efforts. You should have a scientific background in cellular biology, molecular biology and/or biochemistry with experience in cell-culture based models for assay development and biology validation. You should have obtained expertise in stem cell biology and ideally have gained practical experience in iPSC derived differentiation. Working closely with your supervisor and cross-functional teams, you will develop biomolecular condensate disease-mechanism relevant assays. You will make important decision-driving contributions to progress discovery projects leading from hit characterization to lead optimization, by establishing and learning from these disease-relevant cell models and assays.

In this role you will…
- Establish and maintain iPSC-derived cardiomyocyte lines for disease phenotype characterization
- Develop new cell culture models and characterize disease-associated condensates
- Perform assays to support high throughput screening of novel small molecules
- Work closely within a cross-functional cardiopulmonary disease team that values innovation and encourages personal development
- Become a valuable contributor to other initiatives as they arise in our fast paced, start-up environment
To do this you will need…
- BS or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related science discipline
- 2+ years professional laboratory experience
- Experience within the field of iPSC biology and an understanding of differentiation procedures
- Strong cell culture experience, including the growth and maintenance of cell lines
- Excellent organizational skills to balance multiple objectives
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills
- Experience with a wide range of biochemical, molecular, and imaging assay techniques
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, the shared language of our multicultural team
It is nice but not essential that you also have …
- Hands on experience in differentiation of iPS derived cardiomyocytes
- Viral transduction and transfection of siRNA or plasmid in cell culture models
- Experience in Calcium flux measurement and Electrophysiology (MEA) based techniques in cardiomyocytes
