CGG repeat RNA G-quadruplexes interact with FMRpolyG to cause neuronal dysfunction in fragile X-related tremor/ataxia syndrome
Jill Bouchard

This protein phase separates, and the CGG99 RNA accelerates a liq-sol transition... not surprising that behavior is tied to neurodegeneration.

SFPQ regulates the accumulation of RNA foci and dipeptide repeat proteins from the expanded repeat mutation in C9orf72
Jill Bouchard
Editor in Chief, Condensates.com
Check out this paper to learn about a core paraspeckle protein that seems to regulate RNA foci, which makes it a potential drug target for C9orf72 ALS/FTD.

This review argues p53 is not a prion based on current data, even though it may form amyloid fibers. I bet this has something to do with it's phase separation properties which lead to aggregation.
