Do you want to know if your favorite protein goes to stress granules? Researchers from Salvador Ventura’s lab at the Autonomous University of Barcelona published the SGnn web server to predict whether proteins containing prion-like domains will go to stress granules in response to heat stress. These scientists used machine learning to predict this localization based on aggregation propensity, net charge, and the presence of free cysteines.
